Website Accessibility

We are committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including those with disabilities. Our goal is to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA standards.

Here are some of the steps we have taken to make our website more accessible:

  • Installed accessiBe widget for realtime accessibility adjustments based on user needs (click blue icon on lower right of screen)

  • Structured content using proper heading tags and semantic HTML to make content more findable and navigable for screen reader users

  • Added alt text to all images to provide descriptive alternatives for visually impaired users

  • Created transcripts and captions for audio and video content

  • Built the website using code that allows it to adapt and scale to different screen sizes and devices

  • Wherever possible implemented an accessible color contrast ratio for text

  • Designed clickable elements to be large enough for touch screens

  • Provided clear and recognizable ways to navigate back to the main content if you get stranded on a page

We aim to improve the accessibility of our website continuously based on evolving web standards and user feedback. If you experience any difficulties accessing content on our website due to a disability, please contact Sara Gray at sara@nationalequityproject.org. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your needs and make the appropriate changes to improve your browsing experience. We value the input of all our users as we work to make our website welcoming and accessible to all.
