Breana Calloway

Breana Calloway was raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Her late father was an educator, so the importance of education was instilled in her at an early age. Breana was inspired to follow in her father’s footsteps and became a teacher in 2017. She earned a B.A. in Sociology from Illinois State University and a M.Ed in Elementary Education from National Louis University. Breana currently teaches 3rd Grade Math and Science at Deneen School of Excellence located on the Southside of Chicago. She aspires to become a leader in education and is currently applying to graduate programs to obtain an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Breana finds inspiration in Nelson Mandela’s infamous quote “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” She believes that in order to change the world, we must first change our immediate communities. Outside of the classroom, Breana enjoys writing poetry, swimming and rollerskating.
