Cassandra Black
Greetings! I've been teaching for over a decade and I've taught grades 5-12 and several subjects over the years. Currently I teach Black History - a course I designed - and U.S. History. My primary goal in both of these classes is to help students continue developing their critical thinking skills by giving them the opportunity to engage with unvarnished historical content. My other roles at Decatur High School include being an advisor to the Black Student Union and the Politics Club. Additionally, I am an assistant Track Coach and I'm serving a two-year term on our School Leadership Team. Overall, I hope to continue being a positive change agent at my school.
