Cheri Fennell is a public school educator with Durham Public Schools. She is a summa cum laude alumna of North Carolina Central University where she majored in Mathematics and Computer Science. Shortly after her undergraduate studies, she began her teaching career before returning to graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to pursue her M.Ed. in Math Education. Cheri has over 17 years of teaching experience at the middle and high school level. Cheri has held several teacher leadership roles, currently serving as Equity Champion at the school level. Cheri is a lifelong learner and continues to expand her knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities. Cheri is committed to developing and strengthening problem solving skills in her students. She is passionate about building relationships with students and helping them reach their full potential by incorporating metacognitive processes and growth mindset strategies in her classes.
