Ms. LaToya Flowers is a very dedicated and passionate educator for the Moreno Valley Unified School District. She has been teaching young minds for over 20 years where has taught various academic grades ranging from TK through 6th. LaToya Flowers was honored as the MVUSD Teacher of the Year for 2022.
In her school district, she is a Lead Teacher, Co-Chair of the African American Parent Advisory Council at her school site and a Union Representative.
LaToya Flowers is very passionate about teaching Early Childhood Education and is an advocate for students and parents. She often works with the parents, students, school district leaders and union leaders through her position as a National Educator Association Delagate to develop educational legislation that will benefit all involved.
She uses her influence to inspire young scholars to believe in themselves and to live authentic lives that celebrate their individual uniqueness as well as their cultural diversity. She believes in equity for all teachers and students but feels a great affinity for her African American students and is dedicated to changing the systemic educational disparities that have plagued so many of them.
Through her work with the Black Teacher Project, Ms. LaToya Flowers will make sure her goals are met.
