Engaging in and teaching the practice of social justice and equity informs Hamilton’s teaching and life. She has spent the past twenty plus years teaching literature, writing, and reading in various schools throughout Georgia. Outside of the classroom she has been engaged in a variety of projects shaped to enrich the lives of her students. From founding writing workshops to collaborating with local librarians in community presentations of young writers, and family ESOL classes, her primary focus remains the restorative reorganization of public education for the betterment of all students.
