Nico Johnson

In recent years, I have discovered my love and passion for educating
students through my experience as a substitute teacher. Educating
students has given me a great sense of purpose and value in the world. I
have found satisfaction as a mentor and as an educator working to serve
the academic needs and personal goals of students. As a History and
English teacher at Roberto Clemente Community Academy on Chicago’s
West side. I’m working to increase knowledge and expand perspectives
on historical events, political challenges, real world problems, and
controversial issues. As a former actor with a degree in criminal justice, I
intend to use my creative and innovative skills to enhance classroom
activities using unconventional strategies, methods, and techniques to
broaden perspectives and enhance the educational interest and
experiences of all my students.
