Sherise Thompson
Hello, my name is Sherise Thompson, I am in my 8th year of teaching 7th grade social studies for Hilliard City Schools in Ohio. I am one of the only social studies teacher of color in my district and one of less than 30 teaching staff of 1,200 educators. We have created a DEI program of which I am a facilitator. My passion is Social Justice; I’m always in for a good protest. I also am the secretary of our teachers union which is another branch of social justice in my eyes. I am very outgoing and am not afraid to talk and let my voice be heard especially when it’s for those that are not comfortable speaking. I look forward to learning how to better server our kids of color in our district and help drive the DEI work for all our kids that are marginalized.
