Alex Fralin has a rich background in facilitating school and district improvement. In 2019, Alex founded Leading Partnerships, which is a leadership consulting practice that equips school and district leaders with the tools necessary to transform their leadership development and school support systems that reflect a vibrant school-district partnership.
Alex was the Chief of Schools for Secondary Education for the Madison Metropolitan School District in Wisconsin where he was responsible for 18 secondary schools serving 12,000 students, as well leading a high school reform effort that engages students in charting personalized pathways to postsecondary success. Before arriving in Madison, Alex served as a Deputy Chief of Schools for Chicago Public Schools, where he was responsible for co-leading 28 K-8 schools. He also worked as the Senior Director of the Aspiring Principals Program and Leadership Coach at New Leaders in New York City. Alex’s heart for serving public school students and families for over 25 years grew out of his time as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in Brooklyn, NY, where he humbly and effectively served 1,100 families from 42 different countries. This experience fueled his passion for transforming schools and supporting principals who lead them.
Alex graduated from Boston University's School of Management with a Bachelors in Management and Bank Street College in New York City with a Masters in Educational Leadership and currently resides in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.
