Operations Director, Strategic Consulting

Erin Bruner joined NEP in December 2018 and currently serves as Senior Associate, Operations. In this role, she provides management, design, and support to elevate the internal infrastructures and processes necessary to carry out our work - creating equitable learning environments and ensuring collective well-being, specifically for BIPOC youth.

Erin began her career at Denver Health Hospital Authority, providing administrative, operational, and programmatic support and leadership in the Volunteer Services & Patient Experience office. In this role, Erin is proud to have implemented, hospital-wide, the No One Does Alone (NODA) program, providing volunteer-based bedside companionship for those transitioning from this life who otherwise do not have family / friends to be with them. Erin is particularly proud of this work as it connects to her value of humanity, providing whole person love and respect.

After a brief time away from Denver Health, Erin returned to serve the Denver Public Health (DPH) Department as a Project Specialist for the Maternal Child Health (MCH) program and later for the Community Health Promotion Department in its entirety. It was at DPH that Erin began working more explicitly on organizational equity through participation on the department’s Healthy Equity and Workforce Development committees. During this time, she helped to usher a Healthy Equity Strategic Plan for the department as well as build the capacity of colleagues to increase their understanding and knowledge of health equity, as well as providing space for colleagues to do their own mirror work and self-exploration in service of providing equitable care and programs for all Denverites.

Erin holds a deep commitment to designing and implementing exceptional scaffolds as well as tending, and responding, to the relational and personal needs of the NEP team required to execute the extraordinarily meaningful work of the National Equity Project. Erin grew up in Oak Park, IL and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (minor in sociology) from the University of Iowa.
