Maya joined the National Equity Project in 2019. With a previous background in tech operations and logistics, she was eager for other opportunities to grow these skills. Upon beginning at NEP, she initially served as an events manager, driven by a passion to work more closely with her community. Maya has now transitioned to supporting our consulting team. In this role, she supports organizations in creating more equitable systems. 

Born and raised in Oakland, Maya earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for family and friends, crafting & painting, and traveling to places near and far. Two of her favorite things include being an avid plant mom with over 40 houseplants and continuing her 2-year self-taught skateboard journey & teaching beginners.
