My name is Tawanna T. Rowe. I am a proud Math teacher serving Broward County Public Schools since 2018. I am the Math Department Head and the Middle School Director for the Broward County Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Teaching is my way to be an inspiration for the future generation. My enthusiastic math background in corporate management drove me to teach middle school math with real-world experience in mind. The use of math as world exploration, understanding, and interpretation of our world has been my goal since I began teaching. I have learned to personalize the experience while building equitable yet genuine connections that allow authentic learning. I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. I attended the University of Texas earning a double master’s degree in Mathematical Education and Educational Leadership.
I quickly found my place in the educational world by making connections with all. Prior to teaching, I was a sales manager for an extensive cruise line. Computing numbers and making projections have always been my passion. Through education, I am able to fulfill my passion, my drive, and make an impact on lives. Outside of teaching, I am married with 5 amazing daughters. We love to travel and spend time with each other. My oldest daughter is a freshman in college and my youngest is graduating from pre-kindergarten. At the same time, my other 3 daughters keep me busy with competitive cheerleading, soccer, and basketball. My life is always on the go, and I love every piece of it. The diversity makes an encouraging wife, a caring mother, a nurturing teacher, and a stronger woman.
