Tracy Johns

Tracy Johns was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where she remains active as a community organizer and educator for the Pittsburgh Public Schools district.

Her journey includes starting as a secretary for the district while working towards earning her degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master’s degree in education. Years later, Ms. Johns’ teaching experiences lead her to publish her first children’s book titled “Little Bremar – I am Somebody”.

In 2020, she was awarded a Teacher’s Appreciation Award by the Pittsburgh Pirates and PNC Bank. However, her greatest recognition comes from being the mother of her sons Mark, Brandon and Brennan. Tracy created her business “Melanated Voices” to expand her creativity in literacy and educational resources.

When not in the classroom, Tracy enjoys bike riding on the trails, laughing for hours with positive people and just being herself unapologetically.
